WorldFisha member of the CGIAR Consortium, is an international, nonprofit research organization. CGIAR is a global partnership that unites organizations engaged in research for a food secure future. CGIAR research is dedicated to reducing rural poverty, increasing food security, improving human health and nutrition, and ensuring more sustainable management of natural resources. It is carried out by the 15 centers who are members of the CGIAR Consortium in close collaboration with hundreds of partner organizations, including national and regional research institutes, civil society organizations, academia, and the private sector.

Research Associate
AIN Project, Khulna
No. of Position: 1 position
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of Deputy Chief of Party of AIN project, the Research Associate will be required to do the following tasks:
  • Assisting DCOP to formulate a research outline
  • Analyzing project data for scientific and popular article purposes
  • Drafting the research article or other forms of notes
  • Reviewing the supplied journal manuscript or book chapter
  • Editing and formatting scientific documents
  • Formulating new ideas, as far project needs, with close cooperation  with DCOP
  • Presenting the research output as per project need
  • Executing specific/assigned relevant research work  by DCOP
  • Helping and working in close contact with project staffs when required
  • Travelling home/abroad for attending a workshop/seminar symposium /training/technical session/higher education if required
Skill Requirements:
  • MSc or higher degrees in Aquaculture, Fisheries or related subjects
  • Minimum 5  years of research experience
  • Experience of database design and software development would be desirable
  • Must have experience the micro-economic analysis of survey data and must possess an aptitude for mathematics and computing
  • Be familiar with and competent in the use of MS Access, MS Excel and SPSS
  • Experience of analyzing household survey and/or agricultural data
  • Good knowledge of financial budget process
  • Possess good knowledge on local employment laws and legal legislatures
  • Familiarity with STATA and SQL would be an advantage
